The craft

Everything here is made with heat, pressure and metal.

Real letterpress bites into the paper. Real hot foil is pressed from a metal die, not printed. Embossing you can close your eyes and read. It is slower than digital, and that is entirely the point.

Letterpress

Deep, tactile impression on beautiful stocks. Invitations, menus, cards and announcements with the kind of finish people keep.

Hot foil

Gold, silver, lipstick red and holographic foils, hand pressed with traditional metal dies. Lines as fine as 0.04mm. Others said it could not be done. It can.

Emboss & deboss

Blind embossing, deep deboss, gilded and deckled edges, wax seals. Tone on tone, quietly extravagant, unmistakably made by hand.

Weddings & celebrations

Invitations for the love affair and the party.

Save the dates

The first hint that this wedding will not be like the others.

Invitation suites

Invitations, envelopes, details cards and wax seals, designed and pressed as one piece.

On the day

Menus, place cards, orders of service and the small printed moments guests take home.

“Dinner, dancing & one great party.”

The studio

Thirty years of ink under the fingernails.

The Notting Hill Press is the studio of Gary Jarvis, a printer with more than three decades in letterpress, hot foil and fine finishing, and a reputation among printers as the person who takes on the jobs others turn down.

Every piece is made in Notting Hill, West London, on restored traditional presses, and finished by hand. We work with couples, brands and fellow printers who care about the difference between printed and pressed.

Visits are by appointment, and the first consultation is free.
